Hydraulic oil is the foundation of its work, hydraulic oil quality, not only affects the normal work of hydraulic cylinder, but also cause serious damage to hydraulic system parts, causing unnecessary trouble for workers. So, how to judge the quality of hydraulic oil in the cutting machine?
1. Visual method: that is to say, if the hydraulic cylinder is used in the process, the oil is milky white and cloudy, it means that there is a lot of water in the oil.
2. Combustion Method: Clean, dry cotton yarn or paper should be moistened with a small amount of the oil to be tested, then ignited using an open flame. If a “crackling” popping sound or flash is observed, it indicates that the oil contains excessive moisture. Next, we will discuss the identification of impurities in hydraulic oil within the hydraulic cylinder of a cutting machine.
III. Visual Inspection: The hydraulic cylinder fluid contains visible suspended metal particles that can be directly felt when pinched between fingers. Under light conditions, any reflected spots indicate severe wear of hydraulic components. If substantial metal fragments accumulate at the oil tank’s bottom, this suggests significant wear on the main oil pump or motor.
4. Heating identification: For hydraulic oil with low viscosity, it can be directly put into a clean and dry test tube to heat up. If sediment or suspended matter is found in the oil in the test tube, it indicates that mechanical impurities have been contained in the oil.
V, filter paper identification: for high viscosity hydraulic oil, can be diluted with pure gasoline, and then filtered with clean filter paper. If a large amount of mechanical impurities (metal powder) are found on the filter paper, it indicates that the hydraulic components have been severely worn.
VI. Sound Diagnosis: If the hydraulic system exhibits significant intermittent noise and vibration during operation, accompanied by a “humming” sound from the main oil pump or even piston rod “crawling” movement, inspection of the oil tank level, pipe outlets, or transparent level gauge will reveal substantial foam accumulation. This indicates that the hydraulic fluid has absorbed excessive air. To ensure stable operation of the hydraulic cutting machine, it is imperative to replace the hydraulic oil and maintain optimal performance!
In the process of work, the use of hydraulic oil is also very important, so we should pay attention to the selection and judgment.
Routine operation of the cutting press machine precautions
When starting the machine daily, it’s recommended to let it run unloaded for two minutes before cutting. If the machine has been idle for over a day, loosen the adjustment handle to prevent component damage. Always position the blade mold in the center of the cutting surface during operation. Clean the machine once daily before shutdown, keeping electrical components spotless and checking for loose screws. Regularly inspect the lubrication system: clean the oil filter monthly, ensure all pipes and joints are securely tightened without leaks, and avoid friction between pipes during operation to prevent wear. When removing oil pipes, place a spacer block under the pressure seat base to prevent excessive oil spillage. Never disassemble hydraulic components until the motor is completely shut down and pressure is zero.
When operating the machine, position the blade at the center of the upper pressure plate to prevent uneven wear and extend its service life. Always loosen the adjustment knob first before setting the blade, ensuring the adjustment rod contacts the cutting point control switch. Failure to do so will prevent proper operation when the blade switch is set to ON. When replacing blades with different heights, reset them using the established procedure. During cutting operations, keep hands away from the blade or cutting board, and never use hands to support the blade mold while cutting to avoid accidents. If temporarily leaving the machine, immediately turn off the motor switch to prevent damage caused by improper operation. Avoid overloading the machine to prolong its lifespan. Always operate the machine carefully to minimize serious consequences from minor errors.
